J. D. Simmons, WA0BER, reporting: January ARES support for ice storm sparked a rise in
participation hours. Various localities reported to SEMA via radio for the ice storm..
CW Class:
Kent Trimble, K9ZTV, and Bill Gerth, W4RK, reporting: Class on going. Good turnout last
Saturday.
Training Committee:
Bob Heald, W0XII, reported that a General Class will be presented on April 22 & 29 from 09:00 to
15:00 at Saint Mary’s Hospital. This is over 2 Saturdays. Further information will be forthcoming
as plans develop.
Bob requested support from previous instructors.
Old Business:
1. Corwin Update: Event was very successful. Thanks for John and Leigh Patterson for the use of
their home for the event.
2. Meeting Site: March/May – St. Mary’s Hospital.
3. House Bill 136 (HB-136) feedback. Bill was passed out of committee
4. A number of club members went to the Collinsville hamfest on Saturday January 28 and enjoyed
themselves
5. Field Day – Fire Department Communications Van is reserved.
New Business:
1. Belize – Several club members are going to Belize and operating as V3T during the CW contest
on the weekend of 2/17.
Announcements:
1. The Tech Group, which meets the first Tuesday of the month, is always looking for new
attendees. The next meeting is March 14 at the Red Cross.
2. The next monthly luncheon is Wednesday, February 15.
Upcoming Programs:
1. March – Mike Dolson (N0ZH) – Presentation on Reverse Beacons.
