ARES Report:
Jerry Sill, NN0JS, reporting: No Report. NN0JS has resigned as Cole County EC. A new EC is
needed. Volunteers should discuss their candidacy with J.D. Simmons, WA0BER.
CW Class:
Kent Trimble, K9ZTV & Bill Gerth, W4RK reporting: Classes ongoing.
Training Committee:
Nothing to report.
Old Business:
1. Field Day – No Report.
2. A number of club members participated in the Skeeter Hunt
New Business:
1. The Board recommended that a $100 gift certificate be presented to Mrs. Ossmann in recognition
of the donation of the proceeds of the radio equipment sale of her late husband. A motion was
made and seconded to approve the Board recommendation. The motion passed.
2. The club was reminded that Officer Elections are upcoming and nominations will be accepted at
the November and December meetings. Elections will be conducted at the December meeting.
Mike McCrady, N0ESE, will send an e-mail to the club reminding members that the elections
are upcoming. All Officer positions and one Board position are open for nomination/election.
Announcements:
1. It was announced that the North Georgia QRP Club Peanut Sprint will be conducted on October
1 from 3-5 PM on 40, 20 and 15 meters.
2. The club was reminded that we will again be conducting a Special Event Station on Halloween in
Frankenstein.
3. The Tech Group, which meets the first Tuesday of the month, is always looking for new
attendees. The next meeting is on October 3. It was announced that within the next year the Red
Cross building presently being used for the meetings will no longer be available. A new meeting
place will be needed.
4. The next monthly luncheon is Wednesday, Sep 20 at Oscars at 11:00.
